The start of the trail in the bay at Monterossa.

The trail started way down there in the bay at Monterossa and then wound up, through, and around the mountains and vineyards to Vernazza.

The footpath, literally a footpath, in front of my feet cliffside, and behind me a rockwall, some places were even skinnier than this. I was trying to take a picture to give you an idea of how crazy the trail was in some parts.

The old man selling ‘energy grapes’ halfway up the trail at the top of the mountain. As I said in the blog I caught him in the act whipping out his cellphone, a true business man…priceless!
