The Five Lands. Well, we actually did it. We conquered the 5 towns of Cinque Terre. The odds were against us with a crazy storm nipping at our heals the whole way BUT we saw all five. Nona even braved the steps of Corniglia. The trails were closed due to land slides but we did all that we could.  We had lunch in Monterosso and let kids play in the park afterwards. The towns were almost vacant of all the tourists. It was nice and eerie at the same time! The wind and the waves were whipping away at the cliffs. It was pretty exhilarating for all of us. We also got to check out the castle in Riomaggiore. We decided to make dinner again and call it a night before heading out to Venice in the morning.
