Vini, Vidi, Vici. We came. We saw. We conquered.
After breakfast we decided to take the metro to the Spanish Steps. CHECK. After that we went to the train station to switch over and then head to the Coliseum. The metro train was broken so we grabbed our tickets for the next day to Florence and walked to the Coliseum. We grabbed our tickets again at Palentine Hill and cut the 2 hour plus wait in line. Sienna’s timing is impeccable. Both this time and the last she had to use the bathroom as soon as we got in. The line was so long for the ladies rest room that we ended up using the men’s room (again). Today was no different but this time daddy and Mylan joined the ladies in the men’s room.
TRAVEL TIP: USE THE MENS ROOM AT THE COLLOSEUM! Everyone does it and it saves you ample time to check out the Coliseum. It was a family affair for sure in the bathroom line. Nona was in awe of the Coliseum and by the end of the day reported that she had taken nearly 900 photos (she hasn’t been in Rome for 36 hours yet!). We marched on the Palantine Hill and the Roman Forum and got a taxi by the Wedding Cake to the Pantheon. The Pantheon is free and one of our favorite places to see in Rome. Afterwards we walked to the Trevi fountain, threw our coins in the small pool that they set aside since they are doing restoration work, and headed home to get ready for Florence tomorrow. Rome in less than 36 hours for the second time in a week, now that’s how you do it!
